Walt has served as a labor and employment arbitrator and mediator since 1999. He has been active in the labor-management field since 1982. He is a graduate of Penn State University and Temple University Law School. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bar associations, and he is admitted to practice in state and federal court, including the United States Supreme Court.
Walt’s mediation and arbitration practice spans across many industries in the public and private sectors and includes both interest and grievance arbitration and mediation. He is a panel member for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, American Arbitration Association (labor and employment panels), the Pennsylvania Bureau of Mediation, NJ PERC, Delware PERB, and the National Mediation Board. He serves as a permanent panel member on several grievance panels, and he has presided over grievance arbitrations for unions and employers in virtually every industry.
Walt has served as Neutral Chairman for numerous interest arbitrations, including the PA State Corrections Officer and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and police and fire bargaining units in the cities of Easton, Reading, Lancaster, and many other Pennsylvania municipalities. Walt has also mediated settlements in contract negotiations, including recent agreements between the Montgomery County MD FOP and Montgomery County MD government.
